What is goods in transit insurance?
Goods in transit insurance covers your belongings against loss or damage while they are being carried in the vehicle — the cover that protects your things during a move or delivery.
When you hand your belongings to a mover or courier, goods in transit insurance is the cover that applies to them while they are on the vehicle and being handled. It is separate from public liability insurance, which covers injury or damage to third parties and property.
It is worth checking that any mover or courier you book carries it, and asking how it works for higher-value items. Cover is always subject to the policy’s terms and limits, so for anything especially valuable it is best to mention it before collection so the right arrangements can be confirmed.
Signature’s removals and courier work includes goods in transit and public liability insurance, subject to policy terms. If you have high-value items, tell us beforehand and we will confirm the cover that applies.
