What is a man and van service?
A man and van is a van with a driver — and often a second pair of hands — hired for smaller moves, single-item collections and quick transport jobs, rather than a full house removal.
A man and van sits between hiring a van yourself and booking a full removals company. You get a vehicle and a driver (with a helper added when needed), which makes it ideal for studio and one-bed flat moves, student moves, single large items like a sofa or wardrobe, marketplace and store collections, and moving a few boxes between addresses.
You usually do your own packing, and you pay for the van and the time or trip rather than a large crew — so it is the cheaper, more flexible choice for smaller jobs. Good operators still protect your items properly: with Signature, man-and-van work is fully insured (goods in transit and public liability) and handled with transit blankets and straps.
If you are moving a whole house full of furniture, a full removals service with a bigger crew is usually quicker and better value. Not sure which you need? Tell us what is moving and we will advise honestly.
