What is a registered waste carrier?
A registered waste carrier is a business licensed by the Environment Agency (in England) to transport waste. Using one is how you make sure your waste is handled and disposed of legally.
Anyone who transports waste as part of their business — including house clearances, office clear-outs and rubbish removal — must be registered as a waste carrier with the Environment Agency. Registration shows the business is authorised to carry waste and is accountable for where it ends up.
Hiring an unregistered "man with a van" to take your rubbish is risky: if it is fly-tipped, the waste can be traced back to you, and you can be fined under your duty of care. A registered carrier takes waste to authorised facilities and gives you a waste transfer note as proof.
Signature is registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier. When you book a clearance with us, your waste is handled responsibly and you receive the correct paperwork.
